Young Change Agents

Melbourne Metrics is collaborating with Young Change Agents (YCA) to create an International Credential of Entrepreneurial Learning (ICEL) to expand YCA's entrepreneurial learning program.

The project goal is to provide learners aged 10 to 21 with a comprehensive assessment and recognition framework to monitor their development of entrepreneurial skills at different levels. The project involves multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, philanthropists, start-up organisations, schools, and employers. The credential will enhance future employability and support the development of portfolios of evidence. Employers and tertiary selectors will be engaged in the development of the framework to ensure that it is of high quality and trusted.

The project addresses the problem of providing young people with a comprehensive understanding of their entrepreneurial mindset and skill development. The framework will provide learners with language to articulate what they know and can do, and educators with a better understanding of the development of entrepreneurial capability and assessment standards. The project aims to offer a stronger competency recognition proposition to schools, employers, and tertiary providers, while enhancing YCA's reputation as a trusted educational provider. The ambition is to enable each young person to build and monitor their skills in YCA programs and exit with a credential recognising their proficiency in specific capabilities.
