‘Cultivating Agency in Learning’ is a professional learning course that offers an innovative approach to building capability of participants to transform leadership of assessment practices. In this course, Agency in learning is used as a vehicle to elevate assessment of Literacy and Numeracy. This course is in partnership with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.
The audience for this course is Victorian teachers and leaders in primary and secondary schools. Assessment practices that inject agency in learning into the learning design of Literacy and Numeracy are illustrated and practiced using an applied learning project.
The impact
The program supports participants to unlock students’ full potential by empowering them through assessment practices.
Course participants will develop knowledge and capabilities to:
- understand the relationship between learner agency and improved literacy and numeracy outcomes
- use transformative assessment practices which integrate learner agency with literacy and numeracy
- evaluate your school’s capacity to transform assessment practices.
