Stanford University Indigenous Student Seminar

From the 7^th-11^th August later this year, Ellen Bertani, a research assistant in the AERC team will be travelling to Stanford University in California to attend an Indigenous Student Seminar with the Hoover Institution.

The Student Seminar will host First Nations students from around the globe for a four-day intensive. The topic focus is on renewing Indigenous economies and will be taught by leading scholars and policy experts.

Ellen is particularly excited to learn about how Indigenous nations in the United States and globally are using policy in the revitalisation of Indigenous knowledges, and how their progress and challenges can inform the ambitions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. Ellen is also hoping that her participation will strengthen the work she is currently doing in the evaluation of Ngarrngga – an Indigenous education curriculum project at UoM.
