A/Prof Catherine McClellan Delivers Keynote Address at iCIEEd 2025

Associate Professor Catherine McClellan from the Assessment & Evaluation Research Centre (AERC) delivered a keynote address at the 2nd International Conference on Innovation in Elementary Education (iCIEEd), held from 10th to 12th October 2025.

This year’s conference theme, “Deep Learning and AI in Elementary School Education: A New Era of Meaningful and Character-Based Learning,” focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning approaches into elementary education. The conference aimed to explore how these technologies can create learning experiences that are meaningful, mindful, and joyful, while nurturing students’ character development from an early age.

A/Prof McClellan’s keynote, titled “Leveraging Deep Learning in Elementary Education,” examined how deep learning methodologies can enhance educational evaluation and support personalised learning outcomes in elementary school settings. Her insights highlighted the potential of AI-driven tools to transform assessment practices and improve student learning experiences across diverse educational contexts.
