ACE Delegation Visit to the Assessment and Evaluation Research Centre (AERC)
The Assessment & Evaluation Research Centre (AERC) was delighted to host a visit from the ACE Delegation 2025 at the Faculty of Education, The University of Melbourne on 10th October 2025.
The ACE Delegation 2025 – Delegation for Australian Curriculum, K–12 & Higher Education Exploration: Leveraging Global Excellence, Intercultural Dialogues, and Transnational Education Partnerships – was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) South Asia. The mission aims to foster collaborations, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support strategic discussions to drive impactful partnerships between India and Australia. This initiative represents a mutually beneficial undertaking that contributes to strengthening educational ties between the two countries.
During the visit, AERC’s McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellows, Dr Emma Carter and Dr Samantha-Kaye Johnston, shared insights from their recent research projects.
- Dr. Emma Carter presented her research on classroom-based assessment tools and learning environments, with a focus on the importance of contextualisation when working within Global South settings.
- Dr. Samantha-Kaye Johnston discussed her work on how generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI) is shaping teaching, learning, and assessment practices in Australian secondary school classrooms.
