New publication by AERC Director Prof Therese Hopfenbeck

Assessment & Evaluation Research Centre (AERC) proudly celebrates the publication of a new journal article co-authored by Director Professor Therese N. Hopfenbeck, together with Faculty of Education colleagues Prof Suzanne Rice and Dr Chris Corbel, titled A theoretical model of stakes and their impacts.

The paper explores how the impacts of high-stakes testing vary across stakeholder groups and individuals, depending on how outcomes are valued and expected, and proposes an expectancy–value theoretical framework to better understand these differing motivations, stakes, and responses.
