Disciplined Inquiry Capstone (Travel)

The Jean Monnet Module: Disciplined Inquiry Capstone (Travel), is a graduate subject taught at the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne. This subject was developed by Dr Gosia Klatt and Dr Stanley Koh building on experiences of the previous subjects titled: Education Policy in Practice (EPP) - European Education Policy and National Systems and Education Policy: Study Tour. This Jean Monnet Module has received funding as part of the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union (Project: 101235690 — EESaP).

The module involves a 2-week study visitation program, which will include briefings, workshops and seminars at selected government, non-government and educational organisations in Europe. The module’s objective is to offer a comprehensive overview of the EU, investigating innovations, advancements and challenges in all levels of European educational policy and practice. The study tour will visit relevant European Union institutions in Brussels, Belgium and two other EU member states (Poland and Estonia) over a 2-week period in April and May 2026.

I appreciated the opportunity to connect my theoretical understanding with the practicality of the subject. Seeing diverse institutions challenged my beliefs and forced me to reflect on my practice. Blake Ellul-Thorn
