Education Student Advisory Committee
About the Committee
The Faculty of Education Student Advisory Committee (EdSAC) enables student voice in the governance and operations of the Faculty. The Committee ensures that students are engaged in the development of the Faculty's ongoing strategic priorities and provides feedback and direction on matters of student experience to the Faculty Executive.
The EdSAC has two-semester terms and members are selected through an application and interview process. The Faculty works directly with the Graduate Student Association and Education student representatives to select students across Education coursework and research degrees to sit on EdSAC.

Billy Frost 'I wanted to join EdSAC in order to facilitate discussions between fellow students about how our experience at Melbourne University can be enhanced or improved. I'm a very approachable person willing to help others address concerns and suggestions. I'm also interested in flexible options for students to evidence their leaning in assessments.'
Reem Al-Mansoori ‘I value serving the community and making a difference. My goals for joining EdSAC include building a positive environment where students flourish and give their best. I aim to be the connection between students and university leadership to reflect the true challenges faced and facilitate positive changes.’
Corralia Kita ‘Hello everyone!! I'm Corralia. My passion for learning is very strong, and I want all students to succeed in a stress-free environment. I aspire to be a leader, and being a part of this community will challenge my communication, organisation and leadership skills.’
Devyani Vadke 'The Faculty of Education lectures on teaching, learning, wellbeing, equity, assessment, and many other important educational topics, but how well do they address these issues within the faculty itself? There is always room for improvement, and to better the student experience we need to hear from you, and the faculty needs to listen. But these communication channels are not always so easy to navigate. I have joined EdSAC to advocate for students by listening to your experiences and ideas, being an honest representative of your views, and collaborating with fellow committee members and staff to enact meaningful change.'
Andong (Andy) Xu 'I am very interested in improving the practicality of the programme and integrating theory with real practice to help students in the Faculty of Education to better understand and work in education. Also, as an international student, I am more concerned about the difficulties and obstacles that international students encounter in their daily lives. Helping them to adapt to life abroad and integrate better into the classroom is one of the main reasons why I am motivated to join EdSAC.’
Tristan Danino 'I joined EdSAC because I’m passionate about collaboratively shaping FoE to be more fair, just and enriching for all students,—especially those it may underserve. I want to work to ensure that the Faculty places student wellbeing at the centre of all decision making. I also want to build a stronger sense of community at FoE, making it a place where students from all programs can connect with, learn from, and support one another—just as any good school should be!'
