The University of Melbourne Educators on Screen Project is a multi-faceted, interdisciplinary initiative which analyses how educators in fictional film and television are portrayed, and the effect on teacher status, retention, and attraction to the profession.
The Educators on Screen Project is supported by the world’s largest database of educators in film and television. The database features:
Analysis of the demographic representation of teachers, such as gender, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status
Teacher behaviour, such as their teaching style, career progression, and unethical behaviour
School characteristics such as school type, location, and student demographics
Film traits such as genre, release year, rating, box office performance, awards, and country of origin
