Celebrating the Excellence of Staff, Honorary and Partners
On Tuesday 24 June, we came together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our staff, honorary and school partners at the 2025 Faculty of Education Excellence Awards.
This annual event recognises excellence across all areas of the Faculty, from research and teaching to professional support, strategic leadership and partnerships. It is also a joyful opportunity to hear colleagues and partners speak with passion about their work, their teams, and the impact they’re making. This year’s ceremony was particularly heart-warming, with many staff members' children and families in attendance, a beautiful reminder of the support systems that make our work possible.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of several distinguished members of our community. We honoured Professor Suzanne Rice for her outstanding leadership and academic contributions as she approaches retirement, celebrated Professor Wesley Imms’ 25 years of service, and applauded Emeritus Professor Helen Cahill’s ACEL Gold Medal. We also acknowledged six of our remarkable alumni who received King’s Birthday Honours this year, a testament to the talent, dedication and far-reaching impact of our Faculty.
Sincere thanks to the Excellence Awards Selection Committee, chaired by Professor Suzanne Rice, for their careful and considered work.
To all our award recipients, your contributions to the Faculty, both past and present, are deeply valued. The success of FoE is a direct result of your dedication, creativity and care.
