University of Melbourne welcomes teachers from Jiangsu Province
In June and July, the Faculty of Education (FoE) hosted the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education Leading Teacher Training Program for 59 educators from the Chinese cities of Nantong and Lianyungang.

Deputy Dean and Associate Dean (International) Professor Lindsay Oades extended a warm welcome to the visiting educators from Victoria’s sister-state, Jiangsu Province. Participants attended three days of workshops at the Parkville campus, followed by a visitation program to Victorian schools.

The Faculty has a long-standing collaboration with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Jiangsu-Victoria International Education Centre (JVIEC) in delivering professional learning programs to educators and school leaders visiting Australia from the Jiangsu Province.

The programs are coordinated by Dr Stanley Koh and involve academics from across all academic groups and research centres, with the Faculty of Education expecting to train over 360 student teachers, teachers and school leaders through these professional learning programs in 2024.
