Faculty of Education signs agreement with Ciji Education Group, in Cixi City China

On October 31, a University of Melbourne delegation led by Professor Lindsay Oades, Deputy Dean and Professor of Wellbeing Science at the Faculty of Education, visited Ningbo Qianwan Ciji Foreign Language School, marking the beginning of a promising international partnership in education and cultural exchange.

The visit included a tour of Ningbo Qianwan Ciji Foreign Language Kindergarten and School, where the delegation experienced firsthand the school’s state-of-the-art facilities, bilingual programs, and dynamic learning environment.

At a formal cooperation meeting, Chairwoman Xu Dizhen, Vice Chairwoman Hu Yuanyuan, and General Manager Han Xinhao welcomed Professor Oades and the delegation, providing insights into Ciji Education Group’s vision, achievements, and educational approach. Professor Oades shared an overview of the Faculty of Education’s commitment to innovative teaching and excellence in educational practices.

The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of educational cooperation between the University of Melbourne and Ciji Education Group. This agreement outlines areas for collaboration, including curriculum development, teacher and student exchanges, and the introduction of foreign teachers to further enhance cultural exchange and educational quality.

Additionally, Associate Professor Carlo Perrotta from the Faculty of Education delivered a keynote address titled “Artificial Intelligence and Teacher Workload,” exploring the potential of AI to alleviate teachers' administrative burdens and enhance international education practices. His presentation sparked meaningful discussions on the integration of AI in education and its implications for the teaching profession.

The University of Melbourne’s engagement with Ningbo Qianwan Ciji Foreign Language School highlights our commitment to fostering global partnerships that enhance cross-cultural understanding and broaden educational futures. Both institutions look forward to developing this partnership further.
