Miegunyah Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Lecture

The Miegunyah Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Program was established in 1993 by the University Council, based on a recommendation from the Russell and Mab Grimwade Miegunyah Fund Committee - the body responsible for the management of the Russell Grimwade bequest. Awarded annually, the Fellowships enable overseas scholars of international distinction to make an extended visit to the University and contribute to the University's academic, intellectual and cultural life.

Cultivating Leadership Through Indigenous Land Relations

The Faculty was honoured to welcome Professor Jan Hare, Dean of Education at the University of British Columbia and leading Anishinaabe scholar from the M’Chigeeng First Nation, as the 2025 Miegunyah Distinguished Visiting Fellow.

In her lecture, Professor Hare shared powerful reflections on how Indigenous knowledges, histories, languages and pedagogies can shape more inclusive and transformative approaches to educational leadership. She offered an inspiring vision for reimagining learning environments through the lens of Indigenous land relations.
