2025 Awards
The Faculty of Education congratulates all students and alumni whose achievements were recognised at the 2025 Student Awards Night on Thursday 5 June.
This year’s event celebrated excellence in teaching, research, leadership, and community engagement, highlighting the extraordinary impact of educators at every stage of their journey. From moving student stories to the achievements of our early-career alumni awardees, the evening was an inspiring reminder of the impact our community continues to make in transforming lives and shaping a better future through education.
We were honoured to hear from both our alumni award recipients. When accepting her award, Dr Ethel Villafranca called on educators to collaborate with cultural institutions to help young people tackle the world’s greatest challenges. Faculty Executive Director, Annie Rapoport also read a heartfelt message on behalf of fellow award recipient Syeda Saima Mazhar, who reflected on her transformative time at the University of Melbourne and her ongoing work advancing early childhood education in Pakistan.
