New Honorary Fellows at the Centre for Wellbeing Science 2024

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to our newest Honorary Fellows,  Dr. Jenna Mikus and Ms. Margo Lydon, who have joined the Centre for Wellbeing Science this year.

Dr Jenna Mikus

Dr. Jenna Mikus possesses an exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge in the realm of wellbeing, aligning closely with the interests and established expertise of the Centre for Wellbeing Science (CWS). Her areas of focus include Self-Determination Theory (SDT), crafting, design for wellbeing, and fostering eudaimonic wellbeing, alongside innovative qualitative research methodologies. Additionally, she brings valuable insights into areas the CWS aims to explore further, such as designing wellbeing-enhancing environments, internationalization of wellbeing knowledge and practices, interdisciplinary approaches to wellbeing, and crafting lifestyles conducive to wellbeing.

As the Founder and Managing Partner of the Eudae Group, Dr. Jenna Mikus advises clients on organizational and spatial transformations geared towards fostering health and wellbeing. Her clientele spans commercial office spaces, military, government, healthcare, higher education, and aged care sectors globally, with a focus on regions including the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia. Jenna is committed to bridging the gap between industry practices and academic research, evident in her roles as a Visiting Fellow at QUT's Centre for Decent Work & Industry, an Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Conscious Design, and a former Health Equity Advisor and current Research Advisor at the International WELL Building Institute. She also contributes her expertise to Harvard University's Human Flourishing Program's Flourishing at Work Interest Group.

Drawing on her diverse educational background in engineering (BSc in the US), architecture (MSc in the UK), and design (PhD in Australia), Jenna integrates strategic thinking, change management, and design principles to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration in both theory and practice. Her overarching goal is to spearhead the creation of intelligent, sustainable, and flourishing environments worldwide.

Ms Margo Lydon

Ms. Margo Lydon is one of Australia’s leading experts in the emerging multi-disciplinary practice and science of mentally healthy workplaces. Advising governments, industry and businesses, and having over two decades of experience in leading real-world strategy and systems-change reform in workplace mental health and wellbeing, Margo regularly facilitates national alliances and collaborations to bring industry, research and practice together to drive positive social and economic outcomes.

Margo's efforts are firmly grounded in robust well-being theories and research findings stemming from her extensive academic background. Her endeavors drive systemic changes in workplace mental health and well-being, reflecting a deep understanding of current practices and trends. This expertise lends invaluable perspective to the practical application of positive psychology principles taught in the Master of Applied Positive Psychology program. Consequently, Margo's appointment as an Honorary Fellow at CWS would be an immensely beneficial addition.
