This is an elective subject in the Master of Teaching open to all streams from early childhood to secondary. It focusses on a cross arts immersive experience for both the teacher candidates and primary aged children and culminates in a student designed 'Arts Day' for the children. The teaching team involves lecturing staff and an artist-in-residence who begin the semester by immersing the teacher candidates in their own artistic expressions across drama, music and visual arts as well as observing and participating in the artist-in-residence work with children from St Michael’s primary school. During Arts Day, children from Fitzroy Community School spend time in studioFive with our preservice teachers who have designed age-appropriate arts experiences responding to an Australian artwork.
