Discover how 3a is making a difference for educators, families and children.

I believe the 3a Abecedarian Training is a vital part of the FaFT program. Participating in the training alongside a diverse group of educators allows us to share strategies, reflect deeply on our practice, and support one another in meaningful ways.
One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing how families embrace conversational reading. It has become a calm and special time each morning where families gather, sit closely with their children, and read together.
It is truly lovely to witness the joint attention between parents and their children — the shared smiles, eye contact, and conversations that strengthen connection and build early language and literacy skills. These moments highlight the powerful impact of the 3a approach within our community. Victoria Mack, Yirrkala FaFT

3a training helped me understand how everything connects together. Tashia Fisher (Family Liaison Officer), Minyerri FaFT

The training we received on the Abecedarian 3a approach has been truly insightful and incredibly resourceful. It has strengthened our ability to support families in meaningful, practical ways. Through this approach, we are better equipped to build families’ capacity, empower caregivers, and create nurturing learning environments from the very start of a child’s life.
The strategies and tools we gained are not only evidence-based but also easy to integrate into everyday interactions, making a lasting impact on children’s development. This training has enhanced our confidence and deepened our commitment to helping families provide the strongest possible foundation for our future generation. The 3a approach provides structure and purpose to our FaFT program, enabling us to intentionally support families to learn and grow together. Tanika Collins (Family Educator) Minyerri FaFT

I think what I have loved about Abecedarian is just that reminder of how important it is to connect. And interaction is not just a passing thing. It's a one-on-one meaningful back and forth. It's just all about joining attention with children and to be with them, have that connection so that you can guide them, direct them, whatever it is that they actually need. I think it's just so impactful for a child to be seen and to be heard and to know that the educator's interested in them, that the parent's interested in them. And then their world just opens when they can see that someone actually wants to know and wants to be with them. And I think that's the impact for me. It's reminding educators we are there for the children, not just to get things done.
Building a team of affiliate trainers has been really impactful. I started by thinking about what the trainers would bring to the organisation, but to watch these individuals thrive and develop their confidence and knowledge, that's been amazing. Candace 3a Coach and Affiliate trainer
