Yes, we recommend applying for the Master of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship before you complete your current studies to avoid missing out on your learning area. Learning areas have caps and can reach capacity closer to application closing dates. Applications to our courses can be made up to one year in advance of the course commencement date.
When applying, include information on the subjects or degree you are currently enrolled into for a conditional offer to be issued, guaranteeing you a place in the learning area if you successfully meet the condition of the offer (i.e. successful completion of the subjects you are studying).
Please note that eligibility of learning areas does not guarantee an offer of a place. As part of the selection process, eligible applicants will be ranked by our Selection Committee according to prior academic performance and the results of the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool (TCAT) selection test. Applicants to the Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship must also meet additional entry requirements.
Visit our Master of Teaching (Secondary) course page to find out more and apply.
