What happens if I do not get placed in a school? Do I have other options to study teaching?

If applicants are not successful in being placed in a school, there is the option to study teaching in the Master of Teaching (Secondary), provided it is in their application preferences.

Applicants can apply for more than one program within the online application. We highly recommend students apply for both the Master of Teaching (Secondary) and the Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship at the same time. Eligible applicants who are unsuccessful for the Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship can then proceed to the Master of Teaching (Secondary) in February 2022.

Our learning areas can be capped and have quotas based on placement availability. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis and are open approximately one year from the course commencement date. We recommend applying for the program early as learning areas may reach capacity closer to application closing dates.
