I qualify for multiple learning areas. What should I do?

It is up to you to choose the learning areas that you are most interested in. When you register as a teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), you are not required to specify your learning areas. That means you can teach any subject, if the principal of your school agrees that you have the knowledge and skills to do so.

To help you make your decision, you may wish to look at the content and outcomes listed for each of our learning area subjects.

In addition to your two learning areas, you may wish to consider electives such as Foundations of English Teaching (EDUC90422) or Foundations of Mathematics Teaching (EDUC90426), to provide some general understanding of these disciplines.
