Provision of Robust Measures of Teacher Practice
The AERC was commissioned by Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) to refine, field test and conduct a validation of three tools developed by AERO. The tools are a survey of evidence use and evidence-based practice, formative assessment rubrics and explicit instruction rubrics.
The validation of the tools will examine the extent to which each tool is an adequate and appropriate measure for the three purposes intended by AERO:
- To provide feedback to individuals about their practice.
- To summarise practice across a service, system or sector using aggregated data from multiple individuals.
- To measure changes in an individual’s practice over time as part of experimental study designs.
