Assessment, Curriculum and Technology Research Centre (ACTRC)
The Philippines is facing a rapidly changing education system, associated changes in assessment and curriculum systems at national, regional and local levels, and a need for empirical data on curriculum innovation and implementation. Following a major curriculum comparison study completed under the auspices of Australian Aid, by the Assessment Research Centre (Care & Griffin) in 2011, the Assessment, Curriculum and Technology Research Centre has been established to operate over a 7 year period. The Centre is funded by the Australian Government.
The Centre advises and influences the Philippine system of education through curriculum, teaching and assessment research. The Centre plays a proactive role in identifying trends and pressures on assessment and curriculum and the roles of technology in an educational context.
The Centre is led by Associate Professor Esther Care, University of Melbourne and Dr Therese Bustos, University of the Philippines.
