Opportunities to publish
We actively encourage you to publish the results of your research during the course of your candidature. If, during or following your time at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education you write an article on your research, the University wants to know about it.
The University of Melbourne annually collects data on all research publications produced by staff and students of the University. As part of the annual Federal Government Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) the University is required to report on research publications published within a calendar year. These collections are key indicators of the University’s research performance. The number of publications produced by faculties and schools directly influences their research-related funding. By letting us know about your publications you are contributing to the University’s goals in this area.
Making it happen
- Talk to your supervisor about the possibilities of co-publishing an article.
- If you publish an article you may be eligible for the MGSE Student Research Prize. This prize is awarded for the best article by a MGSE research student that was published in the previous year. Applications for this award are advertised each March in the MGSE Graduate Student Bulletin.
