David Beckett is a philosopher who publishes mainly in workplace and lifelong learning, and upon epistemological, ontological and ethical perspectives on practice.
Amongst about 300 publications, the main 100 are journal articles, book chapters and commissioned reports, mostly as first author, including in some of the most prestigious international journals including: Educational Philosophy and Theory; Journal of Vocational Education and Training; International Journal of Lifelong Learning; Studies in Continuing Education, and chapters in major Springer and Elsevier books. One prominent epistemologically-based resource for mid-career RHDs is the textbook 'Educational Research: Creative Thinking and Doing' (O'Toole and Beckett 2012, Oxford UP). Now in second edition (2013), this is a core text in the MGSE and also at Monash University Education.
