Professor Tristram Hooley is Professor of Career Education at the University of Derby in the UK.
In this seminar, Professor Tristram Hooley will discuss the role that career guidance has played in social, educational and labour market policy. Arguing that the activity of career guidance is employed by governments for a variety of ideological purposes, ranging from preserving the status quo to driving social and cultural change, he will look at what policies and practices are needed to ensure that career guidance can best support social justice.
