Strategic positioning in Australian higher education: Reshaping perspectives
Key forces shaping higher education drive institutions to make strategic choices to locate themselves in niches where they can make use of their resources effectively and efficiently. However, the concepts of strategy are highly contested issues due to the nature and complexity of the sector and university. Working with perspectives offered by strategic management theory, and within the case study context of medical education, this research project makes a contribution to research by investigating the notion of strategic positioning in Australian higher education.
