Early Childhood Educator Workshop - Ballarat

The University of Melbourne, Department of Rural Health invites Early Childhood Educators to a free workshop by Dr Caroline Cohrssen and A/Prof Patricia Eadie from The University of Melbourne.

The workshop will focus on:

  • The acquisition of language,literacy and numeracy skills by young children.
  • Ways in which early childhood educators can facilitate children's development.
  • Links will be made to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the Early Years Planning Cycle.

Patricia Eadie is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education and Care, Melbourne Graduate School of Education at The University of Melbourne. Her research is characterised by multidisciplinary efforts to understand young children's developmental pathways from infancy through to pre-school, with a focus on language and literacy skills and the importance of adult - child interactions to learning.

Caroline coordinates the Master of Teaching, Early Childhood Education and Care at The University of Melbourne. Her doctoral research was positioned with the E4Kids study, and focussed on quality interactions for mathematics teaching and learning with children aged from three to five years of age.
