MGSE welcomed John Doolah as our new Teaching Specialist (Indigenous) this week. John is a Torres Strait Islander man who is currently finalising his PhD at the University of Newcastle. His dissertation examines the stories underlying the Torres Strait Islander migration myth: The Journey of the Sap/Bethey. John will be an incredible asset to the school with his depth of knowledge of the Torres Straits, and we look forwards to collaborating on methods to increase awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and languages at MGSE.
Dr Kapil Dev Regmi joined the Continuing Vocational and Educational Policy (CVEP) research hub within the Wellbeing, Policy and Pathways Academic Unit, as a senior lecturer in April 2021. Before joining MGSE, he was a Lecturer at the University of British Columbia, Canada. His research critically examines educational policy issues and agendas by using a range of theoretical lenses such as international political economy, sociology, critical theory and international development.
