Public and University holiday Friday 23 October

The usual AFL Grand Final eve public holiday on Friday 23 October will be a 'Thank you day' for all Victorians this year, in recognition of everyone's contribution to bringing the incidence of COVID-19 back to manageable levels after a long period of lockdown. Staff with leave already entered and approved in Themis on 25 September will have their record updated to deduct the additional day (or pro-rata for part time) from their leave balance. Staff with leave already entered and approved in Themis on 23 October will have their record updated and the equivalent leave credited back to their leave balance.

If staff wish to update or cancel their leave, they can do this in Themis self-service by following these instructions.

Finance Services, Appropriate Purchasing Channels (APC) Initiative Update

The APC Initiative commenced in March this year with the goal of promoting the best channels for purchasing. It was identified purchase orders (via Themis iProcurement) and University corporate cards were the preferred payment options. Purchase orders provide more accurate reporting, timely payments to suppliers, decreased invoice handling for approvers and overall reduction in queries being directed back towards departments.

At present, the APC initiative has 159 nominated suppliers for which invoices submitted for payment, and are required to quote a purchase order to facilitate efficient processing. This means if you submit an invoice without a PO for these suppliers, you will be contacted.

Support materials have been developed or refreshed to assist staff with the APC initiative.

Themis unavailable 16-18 October

Business Services advise that Themis will be unavailable from 4pm Friday 16 October until 6pm Sunday 18 October. During this period, Security, Finance and HR/payroll patches will be applied. Themis will be made available earlier if the upgrade is completed ahead of schedule. For any queries contact Prashanth Janardanan.
