Program Director (Professional Education) - Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest are now open for the role of Program Director (Professional Education). See the position description for more about the role, the term of appointment will be for two years and attract a 0.4 FTE workload allocation.

Applications for the role, outlining your interest, addressing the Selection Criteria and a very brief CV (no more than four pages) should be forwarded to mgse-hr@unimelb.edu.au and with the subject 'Expression of Interest – Program Director (Professional Education)' by close of business Friday 5 June.


Assistant Dean (Indigenous) - Applications now open

The MGSE Executive have endorsed the creation of the new Assistant Dean, Indigenous role for the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.

Applications for the Assistant Dean, Indigenous leadership role are now open. See the position description for more about the role. Please note, this Assistant Dean role will also attract a three month period of sabbatical leave at the conclusion of the three-year term.

Income Statements will be available via MyGov

In 2020, the Income Statement has replaced the annual PAYG Payment Summary. The University will submit all the details of your Income Statement to the ATO by 14/07/2020 via Single Touch Payroll reporting, as per ATO requirements. The Statement is produced by the ATO and is only available via your myGov account.

You can view your Income Statement for the 2019/2020 financial year in your myGov account. Online access via MyGov is the quick and easy way to obtain your Income Statement.

If you don’t already have a MyGov account, you can create one.

Online Q and A sessions on assessment

To support staff in (re)designing their assessment, the Melbourne CSHE is offering weekly virtual office hours with an assessment expert who will discuss alternative assessment options and answer assessment-related questions. These are curriculum-oriented sessions designed to complement the more technical and design-oriented sessions offered through Learning Environments.

Enhancing your teaching by incorporating theory and research into curriculum design

This half-day program is designed for experienced sessional teachers who wish to enhance their understanding of comprehensive learning design. During this program, theory and research around effective learning design will be discussed, and participants will have the opportunity to explore how those theories and findings can be incorporated into their own lesson planning. This program considers a range of teaching contexts and includes the opportunity to interact with colleagues from various disciplines in the University.
