Australian citizens and permanent residents currently overseas who wish to return home should do so as soon as possible, while commercial options are still available. Further information is available from the Smartraveller website.

If you have recently travelled overseas or have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 please take note of health advice and self-isolate for 14 days in line with advice from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Australian Government Department of Health.

Myki Commuter Club not processing new applications

Until further notice no new or renewal applications for the Myki Commuter Club will be processed. If staff wish to pause their Myki pass, PTV will need to block existing cards and send a replacement card which will be activated the next time it is touched on. Members can call PTV on 1800 800 007 to put this pause in place. Please note that the replacement card will be sent to the address previously provided - which in some cases may be a business address.

PTV's call centre team can assist with updating address details. While PTV can arrange to have Myki passes paused, the University will continue to deduct payments for staff who have nominated to pay via salary deductions. The 90 day dormancy doesn't apply to new cards, only replacement cards. However, a new card will need to be activated within 12 months of purchase or else it will become an expired product. If this occurs, the member can apply for a full refund.

If load passes are about to expire (cards expire every four years), please call PTV on 1800 800 007 to find out what options are available. Please check Staff News for more information on Myki Commuter Club resuming operations when restrictions are lifted.

Melbourne Eyecare Clinic open for urgent care

Melbourne Eyecare Clinic remains open as an essential service. The Clinic is following Department of Health and government guidance regarding COVID-19 and limiting appointments to urgent care only. This includes situations which risk permanent vision loss or significantly impact on a patient's ability to function day-to-day (such as driving or working).

Urgent care conditions include eye injuries or may involve symptoms such as recent onset change in vision, red or sore eyes, new onset floaters or shadows or bright flashes in your vision. A broken pair of glasses may also be considered an urgent issue if you have no other functional pairs. Routine non-urgent eye examinations are being deferred until safe to do so. We are continuing to see staff, students and the public where there is clinical need.

Examinations are by appointment only. The optometrists are triaging and using clinical judgement to determine when examinations are necessary and when they can be safely postponed. If you have any questions or would like to discuss an appointment, please call 03 9035 6666.
