Refurbishment Project Update

Project update

The focus for the project in the last fortnight has been on finalising the designs which are now available for feedback. Work on storage management including archiving is ongoing, with the project team available to assist with your storage, records retention, or archiving queries. The key next steps for the project are to collate feedback for any adjustments to designs, and to determine the construction schedule and decant plans, working in conjunction with University colleagues.

Draft Designs Now Available

The draft designs are now on display on Level 3 of 100 Leicester Street, near the kitchen/lounge area. Feedback on these draft plans is welcome until Friday 30 September mgse-sar@unimelb.edu.au. Draft plans are also available on the SAR project website.

Three drop-in sessions have already been held to discuss the refurbishment program, with about a dozen colleagues per session attending. Come and join us for a coffee and a biscuit at the final drop-in session is scheduled for Friday 23 August, 1pm – 3pm in the kitchen/lounge area on level 3 of 100 Leicester street

Getting ready

The project’s Getting Ready intranet page has now been revamped, to include more targeted information on how you can prepare for the refurbishment program. If you have a query on how to pack for the move, how you can arrange for archiving of records, or how to arrange for recycling of books, electronics or other materials, the updated page now contains all this information and more.

As always, please direct any queries to the project team at mgse-sar@unimelb.edu.au.
