“The best part of the internship is the sense of achievement you gain from students’ successes as they progress throughout the year. I have a background in environmental science, which I’m now teaching to Year 11 and 12 students, and I feel like I am making a difference for young people and for the environment.”
Oli Taylor, Science and Humanities teacher, Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship at Sunbury Downs College

Course structure

The course starts in November with a six-week intensive study program on campus and school induction. You will then commence employment in a school the following January from the beginning of term 1.

You will complete 200 points of coursework over the two years while teaching on a reduced teaching load (0.8 FTE), enabling time for university studies. Study is structured around four campus-based intensives with additional study conducted online throughout each year.

Support is provided to students through a combination of visits to your school, Skype sessions and online help.
