“The best part of the internship is the sense of achievement you gain from students’ successes as they progress throughout the year. I have a background in environmental science, which I’m now teaching to Year 11 and 12 students, and I feel like I am making a difference for young people and for the environment.” Oli Taylor, Science and Humanities teacher, Intern at Sunbury Downs College
The course starts in November with a six-week intensive study program on campus and school induction. You will then commence employment in a school the following January from the beginning of term 1.
You will complete 200 points of coursework over the two years while teaching on a reduced teaching load (0.8 FTE), enabling time for university studies. Study is structured around four campus-based intensives with additional study conducted online throughout each year.
Support is provided to students through a combination of visits to your school, Skype sessions and online help.
