Evaluation of an Online Men's Behaviour Change Program

Summary: The Centre for Program Evaluation (CPE) is undertaking an evaluation of an Online Men’s Behaviour Change Program (OMBCP) over a one year period. This OMBCP trial represents another strand in the attempt to prevent family violence. The key objective is to trial a men’s behaviour change program through a web-based medium. The program is intended for those men who find it difficult to attend a face-to-face session for a number of reasons (e.g., their geographical location or their line of work which may entail shift work).
School Health and Assessment Reporting Platform (SHARP)

Summary: In collaboration with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), the Centre for Program Evaluation is currently conducting a three-year nationwide evaluation of the implementation of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. The focus of this Evaluation is not to re-evaluate the content of the Standards, but to assess the usefulness, effectiveness and impact of their implementation.

Evaluation of the Victorian Deaf Education Institute Real-Time Captioning Pilot Program

Summary: The aim of this evaluation study was to evaluate the Real-Time Captioning program’s effectiveness in terms of academic and participatory outcomes for students. This evaluation project will assess the impact of the Real-Time Captioning programs currently being utilised for deaf/hard of hearing students within a number of Victorian government school classrooms.

The Independent Impact Assessment of the Trust Schools Program

Summary: The purpose of this evaluation was to complete an Independent Impact Assessment of the Trust Schools Program (TSP). The TSP is a program delivered through a joint arrangement with the Ministry of Education and Yayasan AMIR (YA) to grant selected schools a greater level of autonomy and providing these schools with additional support and resources.

Summary: The CPE has completed a contract with The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to develop and deliver an Evaluation Capacity Building (ECB) Project with the DFAT Manila post in the Philippines. The goal of the Project was to equip program management staff at AusAID Manila Post with the skills and knowledge to embed evaluative thinking and evidence into performance management, learning, and mutual accountability processes with the Government of Philippines and other partners.

Summary: The CPE in partnership with Shelby Consulting and Murdoch University completed an evaluation of the Independent Public Schools (IPS) initiative for the Western Australian Department of Education (DoE). The IPS initiative was designed to give greater control to individual schools and school boards, and to reduce bureaucracy within the WA public school system (DoE, 2011).
Heart of Carlton Program Evaluation

Summary: Australia’s Education Partnership with Indonesia (EP) is currently the largest intervention funded by the Australian Government anywhere in the world. It is comprised of four contracts, the largest of which is School Systems and Quality (SSQ), managed by Cardno. Together with direct budget support funded by the European Union, the Education Partnership supports the Indonesian Government’s long-term strategy to strengthen and consolidate its national education system, with a particular focus on the current Indonesian five-year plan (2010 - 2014). This continues its support into the initial stages of the subsequent five-year plan (2015 - 2019). The partnership consolidates previous Australian Government interventions in the Indonesian education sector by strengthening their integration into government systems.

Summary: The CPE were contracted to undertake an evaluation of the Notschool Australia Pilot (NAP) program. The NAP program was an innovative education program designed to support the needs of severely disengaged youth in South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. It aimed to re-engage youth in learning by providing a secure non-threatening environment, and provide a pathway into further education, training or work.

An Evaluation of the Specialist Early Parenting Service Program Partnership (SEPS)

Summary: The purpose of this project was to provide a specialist early-parenting service for vulnerable families who have children aged 0-4 and who live in the municipalities of Hume and Moreland in Melbourne, Victoria. The purpose of this evaluation was to provide information about the linkages between Tweddle, the Hume Moreland Integrated Family Services Alliance (HMIFS) and the Department of Human Services (DHS); on the nature, role and level of formal relationships that exist between Tweddle, the HMIFS Alliance and DHS; and concerning the perceived benefits and transferability of partnerships.
