The program is designed for early childhood leaders or trained mentors who use the National Quality Framework and local state frameworks in their daily practice, and may have responsibility for leading the educational programming and practice under the National Quality Standards in their setting.

Specific roles include:

• Government and system-level personnel

There are no eligibility requirements for this course.

This course has been designed to give you a strong understanding of CLASS and the skills to use it within your educational setting.

CLASS uses research-driven insights to measure how teachers interact with children and offers resources to strengthen those interactions to create supportive, structured, and engaging classroom experiences.

It is the only observational teacher-assessment tool that connects the behaviours of teachers to students' gains and has been proven to work in tens of thousands of classrooms across all age ranges. Over 150 research studies show that students in classrooms with higher CLASS scores have better social, emotional, and academic outcomes.

You will receive a Certificate of Completion once you've successfully completed the training.

During this course, you will learn how to effectively observe educator-child interactions and provide feedback that can help both new and experienced educators improve the learning and development outcomes of their students.

By the end of the course, you'll be able to:

• Collect CLASS teaching assessment data, which is the first step in improving the quality of educator-child interactions in the classroom
• Know how to use meaningful data on classroom quality to inform coaching interventions
• Conduct formal and informal educator observations
• Have a strong foundation for becoming a CLASS coach, including CLASS fluency.

You will learn from leading education experts and practitioners from the Faculty of Education.

The Faculty of Education is an authorised trainer in Australia and provides training in CLASS across Toddler (aged 15 to 36 months), Pre-K (aged three to five years) and K-3 levels.
