Project: Scaffolding in teacher-child interactions: a conversation analytic approach

Nested within the EDGE study, Ha's research project investigates teacher–child interactions adopting conversation analysis methodology with a specific focus on responsiveness or contingency in ECEC teachers’ scaffolding practices. The study seeks to explicate how scaffolding is actually done and how contingency is achieved in teacher–child interactions. The study attempts to bring new insights into how this contingency is achieved from interactional perspectives as the key to understanding how children learn and how ECEC teachers can support children’s learning.
