Registration

Each Master of Teaching course has its own class registration schedule based on course start dates. Detailed registration schedules and information are available on our class registration page.

Class places will be made available to students online over three staggered release dates. You can register for classes from the first release date through your Student Portal. We ask that you check your University of Melbourne email regularly for updates about registration into your subjects – this is our main form of communication with students.

Instructions on how to register for classes are also available in the Master of Teaching registration schedule handout, which we will email to you.

Criminal Records Check

Some kindergartens and childcare centres may have a local policy and ask students for a current Criminal Records Check. These forms are available from Australia Post offices or the Victoria Police website.

Working with Children Check

Please note: This information is for Melbourne Graduate School of Education students only.

In 2006, the Victorian Government introduced a checking system to help protect children under 18 years of age from physical or sexual harm. The Working with Children Check (WWCC) creates a mandatory minimum checking standard across Victoria.

You will need to supply a copy of your WWCC card or WWCC application receipt before you can commence the Master of Teaching. If we do not receive a copy of your WWCC card or application receipt, you will be unable to commence any of the practicum requirements of your course.
