Where are they now - Alex Louie

Master of Teaching (Secondary) graduate Alex Louie is now working full-time at one of the schools she was placed in during her studies - University High School.

She is teaching a variety of subjects and year levels and is also involved in extracurricular activities.

"My load is very diverse this year - Year 12 English, Year 11 English, Year 7 Accelerated English, Year 8 ESL and two Year 8 Music classes." Alex explains.

“I am also the conductor for one of the school bands. I've been involved in quite a few other extracurricular activities including sport and music, and I also go on a few school camps each year. I absolutely love it.”

Alex says she continually draws on the skills she learnt from the Master of Teaching.

“I use the skills I learnt on a daily basis, from behaviour management, to curriculum development and student welfare.”

Alex plans to return to the Melbourne Graduate School of Education to complete the final 50 points of the Master of Teaching by research, and ultimately complete a PhD in education.
