Kim is a co-researcher on the AITSL-funded national consortium led by the University of Melbourne to develop a Teaching Performance Assessment – the Assessment for Graduate Teaching.

Prior to working in the Centre for Program Evaluation, Kim was a Director of Learning & Teaching in the College of Education, Victoria University and his other professional experience includes: teaching in primary schools, special education, Aboriginal education, community education, prison education, workplace education, and higher education.

Kim’s doctoral thesis, completed in 2003, was entitled ‘Performing masculinity and leadership: Male academics’ work practices and identities’. Kim’s major area of research has been in the field of educational leadership. He has also collaborated in research activities around creative pedagogies, the use of online protocols and collegial conversations, and has explored responses to supercomplexity in higher education institutions.
