Melbourne Graduate School of Education ranked number one in Australia

The University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education has been ranked number one in Australia and twenty-first in the world in the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for education subjects.

Dean of the Graduate School Professor Lesley Farrell said the rankings highlighted the outstanding work of staff and the quality of students and graduates.

“Our strong performance is thanks to the cutting edge research conducted by staff and students and the excellence of our teaching and executive education programs” she said.

Professor Farrell noted that the Graduate School must continue to identify and address new challenges to enhance its position as a world-leading school of education for the next 10 years.

“Work is underway to secure our future and to ensure that we are responding to the changing needs of our students and partners. We are evolving our curriculum, programs, resources and infrastructure in order to produce even better research and graduate outcomes for society,” she said.

It is the first year in which education is measured as an individual field and the Times’ table highlights the leading universities across education, teacher training and academic studies in education subjects.
