International conference on language policy in multicultural and multilingual settings
As part of the UNICEF/University of Melbourne Language, Education and Social Cohesion project, an international conference is to be held at the University of Mandalay, Myanmar.
Distinguished international and local speakers will present papers on aspects of multilingual language policy and its implications in the Asia Pacific region and more widely. Official representatives from across Southeast Asia will report on the state of multilingual education and language policy in diverse countries, while panels of academics, civil society organisation representatives and education practitioners will address critical issues and development in language policy and planning. The organisers invite scholars and practitioners to submit proposals on multilingual education, language policy, social cohesion, and peacebuilding themes.
