Professor Marc A. Brackett

Marc Brackett, Ph.D., is founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and Professor in the Child Study Center at Yale University. His research focuses on: the role of EI in learning, decision making, creativity, relationships, and health, and the impact of EI training on student and educator effectiveness and school climate. He has published 125 scholarly articles and is lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to SEL that has been adopted by over 2,000 schools across the United States and in other countries. Marc also consults with Facebook and Google on integrating EI into product design.

Prof Meg Maguire

Professor Meg Maguire

Professor of Sociology of Education King's College London, UK Professor Maguire's research is in the sociology of education, urban education and policy. Meg has a long-standing interest in the lives of teachers and has explored issues of class, race, gender and age in teachers' social and professional worlds. Meg has conducted ESRC-funded research into the experiences of minority ethnic trainee teachers, post-compulsory transitions and multi-agency policy in challenging school exclusion in urban primary schools.
