What can I support?

Gifts to Education from the community vary: from annual gifts supporting our highest priorities such as bursaries for teaching candidates and education research students, to major gifts such as the funding of scholarships and the provision of teaching and learning facilities.

Our current priorities for support include:

  • Research
  • Teaching
  • Scholarships
  • Capital Works
  • Early Childhood

Arts Education Space

We are creating a new, world-class academic space for the University, where students and professors will engage in innovative and inspirational curriculum. Learn more about our new building program and invest in the future of our arts education students and practitioners, the people who will shape how we will live in the 21st century.

The MGSE Scholarship Fund

Access to education should not be determined by social and economic factors. We have established a Scholarships Fund to remove barriers to education. The Fund will be an accumulation of resources from personal, industry, corporate and philanthropic donations which will be used for scholarships and bursaries.

Other Scholarships

For those seeking to recognise a specific area or discipline, or to create a legacy remembering a family member, opportunities exist to create named scholarships.

Here are two examples:

The Olive Battersby Scholarship
Established by Mr John Battersby and Mrs Joan Kent in memory of their sister, Olive, the Olive Battersby Scholarship provides a scholarship to high achieving teacher candidates enrolled in the Master of Teaching to assist with their studies.

The John and Eric Smyth Travelling Scholarship
Established via the Will of the University’s first Professor of Education.
